'arrison Haut: Art and Couture side by side by Spring Street ...

The Berkshire Eagle has a great story on Jo Ellen Harrison '71 who now has two establishments on Spring Street: The Harrison Gallery and Ruby Sparks.

It has been many years since Cal King, Lou Rudnik, and Phil Walsh were lynch-pins of the heart of Williamstown commerce with a liquor store, laundry, and the most collegiate clothes you could imagine.

Ms Harrison's gallery has been host to three artists with a connection to the Class of '56, including the wives of two class officers and another artist who can sport a  Class of '56 hat.

In case you are wondering about Ruby Sparks:

"I like the adventure of starting a new business," Harrison said. "I wanted a store that was all about the fun and freedom of a new outfit — the confidence — the spark in our spirit. Then I was thinking about what gives me that feeling, and it is my Harley-Davidson motorcycle — which has red tail lights — sparks, red evolved into Ruby Sparks."

If you are passing through Billville and need a lift or a gift for yourself or a friend, park your Harley and drop in!
