The Co-op student, 4 year graduations, and a very legitimate gripe from Northeastern University...

Without meaning to take anything away from our justly-deserved #1 (Beat Amherst),  I none-the-less point out Northeastern University's complaint on 4 year graduations as a necessarily positive indicator of college strength and commitment to students.

Reading Tom Freidman this morning in the NYT and his comments on education as one of the five pillars on which the US has based economic strength, I wonder if US News needs to rethink some of the standards in light of where we are and to the position to which we might wish to return.

Wick Sloan has made the case for the working student compelling in many posts and comments to EphBlog. Perhaps this method of achieving a degree is a positive and needed indicator in our current economy.
